Once a dream.......
When I first visited Dunga, christmas 2003 I went through the usual culture shock most Europeans will go through when visiting an empoverished part of Kenya; astonished by it's beauty but shocked by it's problems. nevertheless I started bonding with this small community of fisherman and farmers. Their hospitality, civilistaion and wormth were for me, coming from a very different place overwhelming and I totally fell for it. And I had a dream.....
Now three years later, finally I can do something back for this warm welcome and the nice days I spent on several previous visits. I brought a very inspiring and strong team and Alphonce built likewise a team in Dunga. the two teams have now merged to the CRE8, the next step, team 2006 and it is an impressive team indeed.
Very impressed and happy I was to find the school, the community and everyone else involved so well prepared and also excited for the upcoming project. Yesterday we met everybody involved and presented the suitcases made by the children of the Dutch schools to their counterparts in Dunga. It was a succesfull, exhausting and inspiring day.
